LightUp - The Meetup.com export plugin for Lightroom

LightUp (beta)LightUp(beta) For Lightroom3
The Lightroom Export plugin for Meetup.com
Copyright 2010 - Joe Lippeatt

Current Version: 1.0.3

  • Provides a full list of all of your favorite MeetUp.com Groups!
  • Lists all recent group events, no more hunting for URLs!
  • Uploads directly from Adobe Lightroom, no more exporting to temp directories
  • Meetup.com "Caption" automatically filled in with your Lightroom "Title"
  • Export settings are simplified and limited to only what's needed for Meetup.com
  • Automatically discover your Meetup.com API key
  • Works with all of your usual Post-Processing Actions (like Mogrify!)
  • Optionally posts selected image/camera data in a Meetup.com photo comment!

Some known bugs & issues:

The "comment" information is retained, so posting an image with a blank comment may result in hving the previous images comment posted.

A delay on Meetup.com's server will result in an unspecified error that fails the entire batch of uploads.  Consider limiting your uplod to less than 10 imges at a time.

Current Known bugs in 1.0.3:

  • Evaluations of numbers sometimes causes the plugin to crash
    • MeetUpUploadTask.lua:284: attempt to compare nil with number - fixed in 1.0.4
    • MeetUpExportDialogSections.lua:67: attempt to perform arithmetic on a string value (inside the callback for addObserver for condition eventSel) - fixed in 1.0.4
  • Comment tokens with blank values (such as "Lens" metadata when the lens is unknown (Lensbaby, etc) will create two camas in the comments (", ,") fixed in 1.0.4
  • Remove unneeded warning message that the image may not be instantly available on meetup.com (fixed on meetup side) This is actually still needed.  The browser will often launch Meetup BEFORE your image is processed, so you will be taken to an error page on meetup.
  • Comment settings will sometimes be saved from one session to another - fixed in 1.0.4
  • Comments will post sometimes even when not requested - fixed in 1.0.4
  • Meetup.coms interface changes causes some of the metadata to displayed incorrectly (shutter speed)
  • "I'm just saying ..." label on the dialog for more than 15 images is confusing (somehow)

Requested Features for 1.0.4:

  • OS X 64bit (bug?)
  • OAuth
  • Sort Group list order by "Last Used"
  • Add comments for zenfolio/flickr/etc uploaders (photo:getPropertyForPlugin("info.regex.lightroom.export.smugmug2", 'url', nil, true).  "flickr2", "zenfolio2", etc.
  • Use Meetup.com's latest version of the "post comment" API (added in 1.0.4)
  • Post comments after each upload rather than after all uploads (fix) (added/fixed in 1.0.4)
